DIY Hydrogen : DIY (Do It Yourself) Hydrogen , the classic high school experiment.

Here's an experiment for you (Warning adults only and only with a small lantern battery.) Get a lantern battery that has screw on terminals. Fill a glass bowl with tap water. Add a few sprinkles of salt from a shaker to the bowl. Run a red wire from the positive terminal to the water in the bowl. Run a blue wire from the negative terminal to the water in the bowl being careful not to allow the two wires to touch. You'll notice bubbles coming from the blue negative wire. That's hydrogen. There are bubbles coming from the red positive terminal that are also of value : chlorine and oxygen gas. N1R requires massive electric power to generate hydrogen in quantities sufficient to replace foreign crude oil.
